The Magical Wings of Imagination
“Let’s fly!” I said spontaneously to my partner one evening when we were returning from a walk. We just reached the little port where the wind was blowing so strongly that I thought if maybe I would spread my arms wide enough I could fly just like the seagulls above my head.
“Where?” my partner asked.
“Just fly! Fly for the joy of flying… Nothing more. There doesn’t always need to be a reason for everything, or a goal, you know,” I responded with my arms already stretched to the sides, enjoying the feeling, the moment, the freedom, the image of me flying up to the sky just like that in my jacket and a red hat, if I wanted to, even if only in my imagination…
It’s so beautiful and powerful to play with our fantasy, let it fly anywhere and let it take us on its wings on unlimited trips, just like we used to do when we were kids.
So often, people are forgetting about their gifts, natural tools which they can use to color their world, their days. They are too busy, thinking too much, they want the reason for everything, the goals.
They forgot the journey is always the destination. Simply because every moment of our lives will happen only once. It’s not that we could return and live it after, when we reached the goal.
And besides, there are many things, which need no goal, which are the goal themselves. Simply doing them for the pleasure, joy, fun. And these, at the end, often bring so much inspiration, which no thinking in the wold can bring. The best things and discoveries often happen when we don’t think, when we just are, enjoying what we are doing in the moment. (By the way, didn't the Buddha also come to enlightenment in exactly this way? He stopped trying, looking for how, he relaxed and that was it!)
Doing things just for doing them, enjoying them. Like kids. They play for the joy of the game. They are there, fully, deeply, transported by their imagination in other worlds, invisible to those, who forgot they, too, once were able to travel even without a plane or a car, or fly anywhere, fly far away, for a while, just for the joy of it. Nothing less and nothing more.
After all, Frenk Sinatra knew something about it.
Here, I dare to use his words, I am singing along his voice, his shining star, which has the power to glow and brighten our lives, lift our mood, our spirits anytime we need.
Anywhere in the world, when people hear this song and start to sing, hum the melody, the joy appears, the zest for life is back, and they remember that world, indeed, is magical, and that we all have the magical power to transform every moment in a beautiful journey, a beautiful destination, and to fly if we want… on the wings of our imagination… or thanks to a song written and sung with joy and from the heart…
Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like on
A-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me…
In other words,
