The Love Song of Spring
In my last article, I mentioned how spring is affecting me. And I also mentioned my determination to take control this year and not let a moment of my life be impoverished just because spring usually blows with me like the wind with clothes on a line.
Every determination to take any new step requires patience and it’s important to keep it in front of our eyes, so that nothing could lead us to the old path, from which we decided to turn in a direction that suits us much better.
I wrote my determination here, publicly, that's already a good reason to follow it. What example would I set if I didn't follow my own words?
I don't know why I feel like that, but despite the fact that I managed to make a lot of missteps and mistakes in my life, whatever it was, I try to learn and continue on the right path, setting the best example possible. In fact, even the fact that even my own mistakes do not stop me, but on the contrary, strengthen me to continue on the path that I honestly feel is good both for me and others, is, I think, quite a good example.
And this thought, actually, warms my heart like the spring sun that alternates with the clouds in the sky in recent weeks so quickly that it's almost making my head spin.
March is crazy, according to local lore. And I would rather say that every month on this island is crazy in its own way, but in the end it has nothing to do with the weather, although the weather is probably a little bit to blame for it in a way. And the sea, of course. All those smells and colors that enchant the human mind so much that it is unable to work normally and automatically switches to the mode of being here and now. In other words, the mode of the famous “dolce farniente”.
Like this afternoon and now, for instance.
Right now, the moment when the sun sets into the sea is approaching. I won't see it today because I have voluntarily chosen to enjoy the afternoon here outside on our terrace. Partly reading, partly thinking about my visions, drawing inspiration, partly just being and observing what is happening before my eyes.
Right now, the shades of the facades of the surrounding houses are changing, the tone is warm, the clouds in the sky are turning pink, the birds are singing, pleasant music is playing from inside, I am wrapped in a sweater and a blanket, thick socks on my feet, the air smells amazing from all kinds of flowers that grow around, seagulls circle high above my head. It is divine.
And even though my fingers are a little chilly as I type on the keyboard, I told myself that now is the right moment to write a new article, to capture in it the energy of this moment, which is soaked in spring through and through, and to realize in detail that spring is wonderful. And even though it's a challenging time for me, thanks to the determination to change this feeling this year, I'm starting to perceive it again as I did when I was a little child.
I remember scraps of memories when I greeted each season with undiluted enthusiasm. I remember how I always looked forward to a change. I welcomed everything with joy. So many new opportunities and incentives to play!
Exactly. So many new stimuli for joy at every moment, every season of the year, at every step. For each of us.
And so, no matter how you feel about the seasons, whether you prefer winter or spring, everything has something in it, and above all, every day is magical, you just have to want to perceive it that way. So little is enough to make it truly magical. And you don't even need a magic wand.
Love, K.
